Issue

The mipmap-mdpi/ directory contains adaptive-icon XML files, but devices running
Android < 26 cannot render adaptive icons — they need actual PNG bitmaps.

Impact

Pre-Oreo devices will show a blank/placeholder icon.

Recommended Fix

  • Generate PNG icons at various densities (mdpi, hdpi, xhdpi, xxhdpi, xxxhdpi)
  • OR set android:icon="@drawable/ic_launcher_foreground" as fallback
