CI red on main: EnhancementQueueSchedulerTest.kt doesn't compile (isPeriodic property + enqueueUniqueWork overload ambiguity) — blocks all CI #140

Summary

:app:compileDebugUnitTestKotlin FAILS on the default branch (main, HEAD a570615). The unit-test sources added by commit 0f9cec1 ("test: add enhancement queue worker/scheduler tests, worker retry rollup") do not compile. CI run 5697 at a570615 = FAILURE, so every future push to main stays red until fixed.

Exact compiler errors (reproduced locally 2026-08-14)

1. app/src/test/java/com/voicetranscriber/service/EnhancementQueueSchedulerTest.kt:47:79

Expression 'isPeriodic' of type 'Boolean' cannot be invoked as a function. The function 'invoke()' is not found

Line:

assertFalse("Work request must not be periodic", request.workSpec.isPeriodic())

In the installed WorkManager version, WorkSpec.isPeriodic is a Kotlin property, not a function — use request.workSpec.isPeriodic without parens.

2. app/src/test/java/com/voicetranscriber/service/EnhancementQueueSchedulerTest.kt:71:43

Overload resolution ambiguity

on WorkManager.enqueueUniqueWork (OneTimeWorkRequest vs List): the any() matcher in

verify(workManager, times(2)).enqueueUniqueWork(eq(WORK_NAME), eq(ExistingWorkPolicy.KEEP), any())

is ambiguous — it needs any<OneTimeWorkRequest>().

Reproduction steps

  1. Check out main at HEAD a570615 (or any commit after 0f9cec1).
  2. Run ./gradlew :app:compileDebugUnitTestKotlin.
  3. Observe the two compile errors above; the task FAILS.

Expected behavior

compileDebugUnitTestKotlin succeeds; CI on main is green.

Actual behavior

Task FAILS; CI run 5697 at a570615 = FAILURE. Main is red and every subsequent push stays red until fixed.

Fix guidance (file only — no fix pushed)

  • Line 47: request.workSpec.isPeriodic (Kotlin property — drop the parens).
  • Line 71: type the matcher explicitly: any<OneTimeWorkRequest>().
