Overview

Build file scanning and directory watching capabilities for project file indexing.

Details

Create substrate/document_scanner.py:

FileScanner class:

  • scan_directory(directory, recursive) -> list[ScannedFile]
  • Watch directories for changes (optional)
  • Skip patterns (pycache, git, etc.)
  • Detect file types by extension

Supported file types:

  • Code: .py, .js, .ts, .go, .rs, .java
  • Documents: .md, .txt, .rst
  • Config: .yaml, .yml, .json, .toml
  • Web: .html, .xml

Default skip patterns:

  • pycache, .git, node_modules, .venv, *.pyc

Acceptance Criteria

  • Scan directory recursively
  • Filter by file patterns
  • Skip excluded patterns
  • Return file metadata (size, hash, modified)
