Goal
Reduce friction of logging interactions. Entering data should be nearly effortless.
Sub-features
1. Remember last person
When opening the Log Interaction form, auto-select the most recently interacted-with person. If you're catching up after a dinner, you shouldn't have to scroll and tap to find who you were just talking about.
2. Scheduled date → auto-prompt
If you have a date/event scheduled with someone in the app (from the Dates page), when that time window arrives, prompt or pre-fill a log entry for it. "Coffee with Alice at 3pm" → at 3:30, suggest logging that interaction with Alice pre-selected.
3. Extract from email/SMS/DM
Optionally read recent communications (with permission) to auto-create interaction records. "Sent a text to Bob at 2pm" → log a Text interaction with Bob. "Emailed Claire" → log an Email. Pulls from:
4. Quick voice transcription
Tap a mic button, speak "Coffee with Alice, I paid", and it logs the interaction. Uses device speech-to-text (no cloud dependency). Transcription fills:
5. Activities sorted by categories
When logging, the interaction type picker should be organized by natural categories (Going Out, Communication, Gifts, etc.) so you tap less.
6. Smart defaults from contact + history
Each person's preferred interaction method, typical time, and frequency goal should pre-fill the log form:

Blocking factors:
Scope: medium Risk: medium Spec: aligned Type: feature
Summary: Reduce logging friction with smart defaults, auto-extraction, and voice input
Suggestion: Implement as a new LogInteraction module with hooks into existing People and Dates pages. Focus on UI/UX first, then data layer. Test with mock data before native integrations.
Rationale: Medium scope due to new UI components and integration points. Medium risk because it touches core interaction flow but has clear paths. Aligned with project goals of reducing friction and improving data entry. Feature type as it adds new functionality. Suggested approach prioritizes UX first to validate the concept before investing in native integrations.

Blocking factors:
Scope: medium Risk: medium Spec: aligned Type: feature
Summary: Add smart defaults, auto-extraction from SMS/email, voice transcription, and organized UI to reduce interaction logging friction.
Suggestion: Phase the implementation: (1) UI-only — remember last person, category-sorted picker, and smart defaults from existing Person fields; (2) voice transcription — new mic component using on-device STT with name+type fuzzy matching; (3) scheduled date auto-prompt — hook into notification system to pre-fill form when DateEvent time window arrives; (4) SMS/email extraction — new native plugin wrappers with permission gates, settings toggles, and a review-before-commit pattern. Each phase is independently shippable and delivers value.
Rationale: Scope is medium because while it touches 8-15 files across pages, store, types, and native wrappers, every sub-feature is additive with no breaking changes and the issue explicitly says 'most of this is UI logic and permissions, not schema changes.' Risk is medium because SMS/email reading and auto-prompt from dates touch permissions and notification scheduling respectively, but voice transcription uses on-device STT (no cloud dependency) which mitigates the biggest privacy concern, and the UI sub-features (1, 5, 6) are straightforward. Spec alignment is strong — the README frames this as a 'privacy-focused PRM' and these features directly serve frictionless relationship tracking, the app's core value prop.

When opening the Log Interaction form, it now auto-selects the most recently interacted-with person.
Remaining sub-features (#2-6) are not yet done:
Committed in: 9ae62d4
✅ Sub-feature #5 implemented: Category-organized interaction type picker
Remaining sub-features for #28:
Sub-feature #6 (Smart defaults) is now implemented.
The system now provides intelligent defaults based on person patterns when logging interactions:
This feature helps reduce friction when logging interactions by pre-filling sensible defaults based on existing data.
Remaining sub-features still to be implemented.
Sub-feature #2 (Scheduled date → auto-prompt) is now implemented.
Commit: 7d33272
When a scheduled date/event passes (within 4 hours), the Log Interaction page automatically detects it and prompts the user to log that interaction with the person pre-selected.
Progress Summary
✅ #1 - Remember last person (commit 9ae62d4)
✅ #2 - Scheduled date → auto-prompt (commit 7d33272)
✅ #5 - Category-organized activity picker (commit 693b960)
✅ #6 - Smart defaults from contact + history (commit 2720ad8)
⏳ #3 - Extract from email/SMS/DM - Requires native platform integration (Android permissions, IMAP, etc.)
⏳ #4 - Quick voice transcription - Requires native integration (Web Speech API / Android SpeechRecognizer)
4 of 6 sub-features complete. The remaining 2 (#3 and #4) are complex native integrations that would require separate implementation efforts.
