Problem

The build/ directory contains 1369 tracked files (Android Gradle build artifacts: generated Java files, compiled classes, APK fragments). These are build-time artifacts that should be gitignored.

Root Cause

build/ was committed before .gitignore had a rule for it. Gitignore only applies to untracked files — already-tracked files stay tracked.

Impact

When the GSD pipeline runs, any build regeneration touches these tracked files, causing commit-ready.sh to flag them as unexpected changes.

Fix

# Ensure .gitignore covers build/
echo "build/" >> .gitignore

# Remove from tracking (not from disk)
git rm --cached -r build/

# Commit
git add .gitignore
git commit -m "chore: stop tracking build/ directory (1369 generated files)"
git push origin main

Then open Android Studio / run ./gradlew build to regenerate the build artifacts locally.
