Repo: Mark/Kimi_Agent_Brother_10_Digitizing_App
Severity: Low (UX)
Found: 2026-09-10, webui usability shakedown

Problem

When you navigate to /gallery, the page shows 12 designs under "All Designs 12",
"Unsorted 2", "Favorites 6". None of these are persisted to a backend — they're
generated client-side, and the Gallery's only write path (Upload Design) is a mock
(see companion issue: "Workspace has no Save Session button").

If a user actually uploaded designs and reloaded the page, the Gallery would not
show them. The persistence API exists (saveDesigns / loadDesigns in
src/components/gallery/data.ts:90-94) but is localStorage-only and is never called
from anywhere user-visible.

Reproduction

  1. pnpm dev, navigate to /gallery. Observe 12 designs.
  2. Click "Upload Design" (no file selected, just the button).
  3. New design appears at top of the list (this is the mock).
  4. Reload the page (Ctrl+R).
  5. Expected: the new design persists. Actual: count is back to 12, no sign of the
    uploaded one.

Why it matters

The Gallery is the natural place for a user to come back to "the design I made
yesterday." Today, no such concept exists. The qt repo had Save Session wired
(a3bf269) but the webui has no equivalent path.

Suggested fix

Either:

  • (A) Wire Gallery's Upload Design to real file read + saveDesigns, AND add
Workspace "Save to Gallery" button (companion issue).
  • (B) Accept this is a known limitation and add a "Coming soon" placeholder in the
Gallery header rather than showing 12 fake designs that imply functionality
    that doesn't exist.

Acceptance

User can save a Workspace design and find it again in Gallery after page reload.
